Why is Thieves Essential Oil and why is it so popular?
Thieves essential oil is a proprietary blend of oils that Young Living created, which is a sweet and spicy combination of Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata, Rosemary, and Lemon essential oils. The name ‘Thieves’ was inspired by the legend of four 15th-century French thieves who formulated and wore a special aromatic combination of clove, rosemary, vinegar, and other botanicals that they believed provided protection from the European plague.
This blend of therapeutic-grade essential oils was tested at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah in 1997. The studies showed the anti-bacterial effectiveness of the Thieves blend against airborne microorganisms. One analysis showed a 90 percent reduction in the number of gram positive Micrococcus luteus organisms after diffusing Thieves for 12 minutes. Then after diffusing Thieves for a total of 20 minutes, there was a 99.3 percent reduction. Another study against the gram negative Pseudomonas Aeruginosa showed a kill rate of 99.96 percent after just 12 minutes of diffusion of this blend.
The oils are highly antiviral, antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-infectious and helps to protect the body against such illnesses as flu, colds, sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, sore throats, cuts, etc.
The reason why Thieves is so powerful is that this blend contains, some critical essential oils that give our immune system a huge boost and protection from harmful intruders, air born, internal and outside critters.
